Things We Want This Autumn

Not everyone would agree, but we reckon we’re easily pleased. As the weather turns cool in London (okay, so not so much turns as remains much the same), we’re anticipating the dandy days of autumn. As we pack up our seersucker and madras, here are some things we’re looking forward to…

1. A long weekend in crisp, good-looking and always nicely turned out Copenhagen, so that we can sneak up the coast and see the brilliant Per Kirkeby retrospective at the stunning Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.

2. It gets chilly in Copenhagen, so we’d like to bring along a new, bespoke sports coat from Norton & Sons, made from a precious Hebridean tweed. If we don’t get fitted soon, of course, we won’t have any chance of slipping it on this side of Christmas. We’re big fans of Norton & Sons and will be saying more about them in the future.

3. We tend to collect shirts, and this year, we’re keen to stock up on piles of shirts from Seize sur Vingt. In particular, we like the MLX design, in subtle tattersalls, a pattern too little seen. Simple, elegant, stylish. Take our word for it.

4. Because we’re hoping to feel jaunty this autumn, we are minded to brighten things up with a fabulous Piombo scarf in a suitably eye-catching pattern, to be worn with a J.Crew cashmere crew neck in dark eggplant (aka, the perfect purple! Yes, PURPLE!)

5. If we could see one gig this summer, it would be arguably the greatest songwriter ever, Leonard Cohen at the O2 in London in November. Following on from his acclaimed concerts this summer, we’re hoping for greatness itself.
